Description
Provide personal computer technical support for all SSC staff.
Responsible for problem tracking, resolution and overall customer satisfaction.
Manage site's personal computer resources.
Promote use of personal computers and development of microcomputer expertise in customers.
Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure and service desktop and laptop microcomputers, their associated software and peripherals. Configure microcomputers for connection to network resources.
  • Track and document problems and requests for support, ensuring ownership and resolution of all problems.
  • Assist customers in defining microcomputer requirements and make appropriate recommendations. Act as liaison between customers and other technical personnel.
  • Develop and execute strategies aimed at improving customer productivity and satisfaction with microcomputer use including service publications, in-house training and brown bag seminars.
  • Manage site microcomputer inventory, including loaner PC's.
  • Keep abreast of new microcomputing technology. Work closely with other technical MIS staff and management to evaluate and deploy new microcomputer technologies.
  • Provide assistance to the MIS Policy Task force in developing and maintaining standards for microcomputers.

    Experience/Skills
  • 5+ years supporting Windows-based microcomputers in a large, distributed corporate environment.
  • Windows NT workstation.
  • Windows XP 2000.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Able to clearly communicate technical issues verbally and in writing.
  • Lotus Notes.
  • High School graduate.
