John Deere Power Systems is seeking a Diagnostic Engineer to develop new software diagnostic tools and improve current diagnostic tools to ensure the successful introduction of new engine technology into the marketplace. In this position, you will:

Aid in the creation of new software service support tools and enhancement of current support tools to increase service capabilities in the field.
Work with multiple internal and external groups to align a complete machine diagnostics approach.
Provide diagnostic subject matter expertise on diagnostics standards (J1939, ISO, SAE, etc) in team environment.
Lead new development of advanced diagnostics in the area of telematics, software improvements, and interfacing with multiple controllers.
Research and apply new industry diagnostic standards.



Education

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, Technology discipline, or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience

Working to expert level proficiency in J1939 and other CAN protocols.
Knowledge of current industry diagnostic standards.
Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
Ability to read technical prints and manuals.
Experience with design, engineering, and manufacturing interfacing.
Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
Customer support experience with customer interaction regarding products, parts, and services.
Willingness to travel occasionally to do advanced testing and reconciliation of software tools.
Work experience in a team environment.
Desired Skills and Experience

Experience with advanced engine diagnostics and instrumentation.
Experience with vehicle interfacing between multiple CAN components.
Experience with OBDI/OBDII diagnostic tools a plus.
