Director, CISCO Program # 80499

Position Summary:

Directs all aspects of the Cisco program (CCNA/CCNP), including but not limited to; progression and promotion of program through marketing, recruitment, orientation and retention of Academy students, and maintain and upgrade Cisco labs as necessary. Supervises Cisco Program personnel, recruits, evaluates, and recommends new faculty hires. Ensures program curriculum integrity; responds to THECB and Cisco Regional and National Academy issues/reports for program accreditation certification.

Required Qualifications/Education:

Baccalaureate Degree in computer science, computer information systems, computer information technology, computer engineering, computer-based information systems or a computer related field, or electrical engineering.
Cisco CCNA industry certification.
At least three years recent (in the past 5 years) non-teaching industry work experience with Cisco hardware in an Information Technology field. 

Preferred Qualifications/Education:

Masters degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer related field.
Additional Cisco certifications such as CCNP, CCSP, CCIE or CCVP.
Cisco Networking Academy Instructor certification (CCAI).
Non-teaching industry experience with Cisco security, Cisco hardware installations and/or implementations.
Community college or higher education experience.  

Knowledge of Cisco CCNA/CCNP Academy lab standards, procedures and equipment.
Demonstrated interest to take appropriate training and earn CCNP industry certification and associated Academy Instructor certification.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills.
Demonstrated interest and/or experience with interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, course development, and adult learning methodologies including collaborative learning, learning communities and distance learning.
