Job Title: Director, People Strategy – Trading and Risk Management

Job Summary:
The Director, People Strategy is the lead member of the human resources function in the Trading and Risk Management Business Unit, which is a multi-hundred million dollar global operating unit. The People Strategist will partner with the global business leaders to conceive, create, implement and execute both global and localized People Strategy solutions that drive business results and people development.
The Director will possess extensive HR experience in Capital Markets and Financial Services firms. Preferably they will also have some experience in either Professional Services or Consulting organizations. They will understand the various functions within these firms and the various services they provide and support. In this role the Director, People Strategy will manage a small team of localized People Strategists in Europe and India. Through this team they will support almost 2000 employees of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Global travel will be part of this role on an as needed basis.
The Director, People Strategy will use their years of HR Generalist experience to provide strategic input and lead solutions in areas such as Performance Management, Organizational Design and Planning and Employee Relations among others. The Director will be a visible advocate of Sapient’s culture and will help our people to understand and align with Sapient’s Core Values, Purpose and Vision.
The Director will possess and exercise exceptional skills in problem solving, strategic thinking, project/process management and fostering cooperation and collaboration. They will have the ability to make change happen through influence and will facilitate HR related discussions and meetings.

Responsibilities:
  • Performance Management including leading formal annual performance review process and identifying and addressing performance issues
  • Organizational Design and Planning
  • Advising Compensation and Benefits team on related issues and needs and participating in program design as well as managing program implementation and execution
  • Working with Sapient’s Internal Communications team on communication issues and needs and being an integral part of program design and implementation
  • Assist in the execution of local operational people-related issues (e.g. relocations, on-boarding of new hires etc)
  • Counseling management in Employee Relations issues and responding to inquiries regarding people policies, procedures and programs
  • Partners with Learning and Development team on local training needs and issues and participates in program delivery


    Experience Guidelines:
  • Minimum of 10 years of broad human resource experience as an HR Generalist including at least 3 years of management experience
  • Experience of managing a dispersed team preferred
  • Experience in Capital Markets/Financial Services organizations required
  • Experience in either a Consulting or Professional Services firm preferred
  • Experience of working directly with Executive management team required
  • Superior Project/Process Management experience
  • Very strong MS Office skills – especially Excel (ability to create pivot tables, vlookups etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in fostering effective cooperation between individuals and teams through personal example
  • Superior time and priority management skills
  • Strong business orientation and demonstrated experience of successfully driving business results through human resource based solutions
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills coupled with strategic thinking

    Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree is required and relevant advanced experience and/or degree (HR or business) preferred.

    Occasional travel will be required
