Position Overview

As the Director of Portfolio Management, you will be responsible for the overall direction, planning, management, communication, and coordination of business and technical portfolio management for the entire Inter-Plan Programs (IPP) division. Responsible for the use of defined BCBSA end-to-end project management processes and Rational development methodologies to ensure key projects are properly identified which contain all major initiatives and reported to the portfolio board. Updates and facilitates priority sessions with executive staff pertaining to portfolio projects. Develops project charters based on approved project vision and supports project plans.

Required Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business administration with emphasis on project management or equivalent work experience
Ten years of business experience in healthcare technology
Five years of progressively responsible project management experience for software development projects
Understanding of Portfolio Management methodologies

Preferred Basic Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in systems development and design. (BCBSA's development Methodology is based on the Rational Unified Process)
Knowledge of systems development methodologies, including business process analysis and workflow design
Knowledge of healthcare industry and health insurance systems and processes
Knowledge of architectural components, concepts including practical applications to assist in business/technical design
Demonstrated knowledge and experience utilizing budget analysis concepts
Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
