The MHHE Digital Products Group has an outstanding opportunity for a Director of Project Management based in New York, NY.



Essential Accountabilities:



Provide senior leadership to all Project Managers (PMs) with a focus on project methodology; consisting of standard processes, tools and templates for all projects
Oversee PMs as they team with the business units, other functional teams and vendors to develop the product, including development, enhancements and maintenance
Consolidate the overall portfolio of projects, including project metrics for scheduling, costs, risks and resources
Direct weekly and monthly reporting to management, business units and corporate regarding the portfolio and project metrics
Coordinates and conducts regular meetings to review projects, resolve escalated issues and address risks
Partners with all functional leads and PM’s to understand and manage existing resource workload and forecasts
Resolves conflicts regarding resource allocation, seeking resolution internally and externally when necessary
Oversees that all project budgets are created and tracked against costs, ensuring that project expenditures are communicated to the business units and corporate, per the established reporting process
Responsible for project schedules and confirming each is tracked against plan.
Consolidates and reports on the portfolio of project schedules and milestones
Ensures project risks are identified and management plans established for all projects
Develops plans to mitigate and respond to portfolio-level risks and any escalated project risks

In depth knowledge of education publishing environment
Deep knowledge of software project management demonstrated by 10+ years of as Project Manager, Program Manager or Program Management Office (PMO) manager
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Vendor procurement and management experience including offshore vendors
Interactive product development experience, preferably Rational Unified Process (RUP) experience or knowledge
Demonstrated skills in leadership, negotiation, conflict management and communication
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field required.
Ability to travel (up to 25%)df-tc
