Description
This position is responsible for 1) defining strategic direction 2) leading and developing a world class organization 3) lead development and management of strategic growth plan and 4) integration of RCL business unit in broader Millipore organization and 5) delivering financial results.

Essential Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities:
-Define a strategic vision and growth plan for RCL that builds on the current capabilities and identifies future opportunities and needs based on the market trends and drivers.
-Establishes current and long range goals, objectives, plans and policies subject to approval by the BioScience Division.
-Directly supervises Department Managers and other key personnel, and with them, plans, coordinates, and controls the organization's daily operations.
-Provides leadership and guidance to carry out major plans, standards and procedures, and assure all assures all operations are being executed in accordance with the organization's policies.
-Directly responsible for establishing annual operating budgets, subject to MIL division approval, and delivering financial performance against those financial objectives.
-Reviews organization's operating results, compares them to established objectives, and ensures that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
-Works with BioScience Strategic Planning and Corporate Development to identify and negotiate potential mergers, joint ventures, the acquisition or sale of businesses, technologies or other assets.
-Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the organization.
-Assures RCL operations comply with expectations of Global Regulatory Bodies.
-Represents and promotes the organization with major customers and stakeholders.
-Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
-Responsible for interviewing and hiring employees, and administering [with HR] the MIL performance system for employee development and growth.
-Responsible for addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. -Advanced degree in biological /pharmaceutical science and/or business management [or equivalent] with 10 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Strong leadership skills with an ability to think and plan strategically.
-Knowledge of Preclincial and Clinical Drug Development
-Managerial or operations experience in a CRO (bioanalytical outsourcing), Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or similar service-related industry.
-Excellent communication skills. Possesses ability to present complex ideas in effective manner to Millipore management, employees and stakeholders.
-Ability to interpret financial and operational reports, leading to sounds business decisions.
-Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
-Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.
-Ability to dial with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
