We are currently searching for a Director of Internet Protocol who is a CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) for a direct hire position with a client here in the Anniston area of Greater Birmingham.

All candidates must successfully pass a drug sreen prior to starting work for our client.

This position has a relocation allowance. Exact amount varies per relocation situation.

Responsibilities:
* Reports to the VP of Network Engineering

* Manages IP and Ethernet Network Engineers

* Responsible for the design of the company''s IP (Internet Protocol) and Ethernet networks

* Budget preparation and execution

* Test, verify, and assess new technologies

Requirements:
* MS or BS required with 12 years of experience in a network engineering or telecommunications support environment

* Large-scale project and team leadership experience

* Excellent project management skills

* Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) preferred

Design level expertise in the following areas:

* IP Inter networking, Switching, Ethernet, WAN expertise, Network Management, Voice Technologies, SS7, Security, and Wireless

Background and experience required in the following areas:

* TCP/IP, MGCP, SIP, MPLS, OSPF, and BGP

* Large-scale and carrier class network design experience

* Previous development of network design documents and technology white papers

Cross protocol platform experience in several of the following areas:

* SS7, H.323, IP, ATM, Ethernet 802.3, and TR303df-tc
