Description
Our client is looking for a Distributed Storage Management professonal to work in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Provide engineering input into the design, maintenance and enhancement of Managed Storage Service.
Provide technical input into the configuration support and automation of implemented solutions.
Develop cross platform tools for remote administration, application support and management.
Develop or recommend tools to provide diagnosis of SAN, Storage and application related statistics and reports.
Assist in architectural definition/review process for System and SAN Management platforms.
Assist in API definition/review/implementation process.
Assist in the definition, development and implementation of an automated chargeback system.
The Principal Engineer will serve as the technical subject matter expert sharing knowledge throughout the technical and support organizations.
Work closely with other technical support teams, development teams and management.
Develop schedules and produce deliverables on schedule.
Design and integration of future applications to support new hardware platforms.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications:
---------------
A minimum of 5-7 years experience in design and architecture within the data networking industry is a must.
Experience in the following required:
- Architecture, design and implementation of Fibre Channel Storage Area Network.
- Design and implementation of specifications from internal/external requirements analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of high-end storage platforms, such as EMC Symmetrix, Hitachi Lightening, and IBM Shark.
- Knowledge of Systems management platforms.
- Design and implementation of network devices for Storage Area Networks and Wide Area Network.
- Interfacing with highly technical engineers.
- Documenting operational issues and solutions
- Understanding and experience related to network topology and design requirements and procedures in a distributed Unix/Windows client/server environment.

Knowledge of the following:
---------------------------
- Systems from the hardware level through applications
- Multiple Operating Systems, i.e., Solaris 6 and Solaris 8, Windows NT4.0 and Windows 2000.
- Protocols such as TCP/IP, Fibre Channel, SNMP, DWDM, and SCSI

Other:

Excellent written and verbal skills, ability to work effectively with multiple teams and organizations. Ability to master new technologies quickly. Candidate will be required to wear a pager.


Compensation:
