.Net Developer
The incumbent will play a role in the successful deployment and management of website applications. Working in conjunction with the e-Business Senior Web Designer, s(he) will serve as the primary interface developer for the deployment of web projects as dictated by the project specification. S(he) will support new application design, development, and implementation procedures using state-of-the-art tools and programming languages. S(he) will technically support all applications that are integrated into the existing core database. S(he) will be responsible for following standards that ensure the highest level of database integrity and cleanliness with regards to our integrated e-commerce solution and related business applications. S(he) will assist in the deployment of all related upgrades, patches and modifications to our supported database applications ensuring the Association remains current with emerging technologies. S(he) will provide first level support to the end users in the operation of integrated custom database applications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supports the design, development, and implementation of new or revised web applications utilizing the Association's standard technologies and offer user support for MBA custom application.
2. Assist with the e-Business designers to develop interface templates and have the ability to adjust and place images accordingly.
3. Assist in the preparation of regular progress reports regarding integration efforts and modifications.
4. Competent to work at a technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.
5. Works closely with the Senior Development Staff to document and maintain MBA's custom applications.
6. Keeps abreast of current developments in system development technologies and recommends and implements new information features as appropriate.
7. Develops and implements an ongoing program of internal training aimed at helping MBA staff obtain the maximum possible benefit from the use of MBA's web sites.
8. Provides routine technical support, including the management of MBA web store, Shazam, survey applications and the member online profile. Will troubleshoot and provide support to the MBA E-Business Strategies department.
9. Participates in the initiation, implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and coordination of online systems and Web site(s).
10. Provide interface development based on specifications including: execution of page layouts, user forms, and search interfaces, implementing script/code such as HTML, ASP, and JavaScript.
11. Supports in-house programmers to develop and implement Web-based applications including Web-based database management projects.
12. Supports & trains MBA staff in use of MBA's centralized content management environment.
13. Works with the technical teams on creation and implementation of development standards.
14. Works with IT department on general site maintenance, performance and site backup issues.
15. This position should not be construed to contain every function/responsibility that may be required to be performed by an incumbent in this job. Incumbents are required to perform other functions, as assigned.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Works with management to identify database strategies to support Association's needs. Consults with and advises users of the various databases. Works directly with end-users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage as needed.
2. Perform other duties as assigned.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree required with an understanding of technology and a basic understanding of SQL and web based programming. Excellent writing and communication and customer service experience required.
Computer Skills Required:
Programming: familiar with Crystal Reports and HTML. Knowledge of ASP, Visual Basic, JavaScript, and .Net Languages a plus but not necessary.
