Description
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Associate Degree in Electronic System Technology or three years equivalent advanced electronic training, including military or commercial technical schools, is highly desirable; completion of military or commercial basic and intermediate electronics courses is required; completion of computer sciences and technology courses is highly desirable.



EXPERIENCE: Three years experience with aerostat-related electronic systems, with emphasis on surveillance radars, telemetry and airborne power generation systems is required; computer literacy is required.



RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible to Aerostat Field Support and Support Center Supervisor to:



o Perform depot-level maintenance and support of 275K, 420K and 71A and 71B-meter aerostat system-related electronics systems and reparable assets.



o Perform depot-level maintenance of AN/DPS-5 radar, Communications Report Processor (CRP) and Airborne Power Generation Systems (APGS) including Onan (275K) and HATZ (420K) units.



o Provide Depot-level electronic and electrical technical assistance and support for TARS sites.



o Provide technical assistance in the isolation of problems, including evaluation of suspected radar and beacon data performance, for AN/TPS-63 and L88A radars.



o Assist engineering and QC personnel in the performance of trend analysis, special inspections, evaluations and studies involving aerostat-related electronic equipment.



o Ability to work above 25 feet and lift a minimum of 35 pounds is required; ability to work at heights above 25 feet and in confined spaces, including aerostat windscreen and tail fin assemblies is required.



? Capable of bending at waist, squat and crawl, climb ladders and towers while working around the mooring system and capable of working outdoors in high heat, humidity, as well as winter cold and rain; capable of working in close, tight quarters.



? Valid driver's license is mandatory for employment.



? Use personal protective equipment when required.
