Description
CDI is seeking an EMI/EMC Electrical Engineer for our office in Cleveland, OH.

As an EMI and EMC Engineer, responsibilities will include testing of various locomotive subsystems, evaluating electromagnetic field effects on electrical equipment, and confirming compliance with various applicable EMI and EMC requirements.

Also responsible for testing and assessment activities including preparing and conducting test procedures and evaluating test results.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must be able to demonstrate the following abilities and skills In-depth hands-on experience performing radiated and conducted EMI/EMC emissions and immunity testing to the applicable specifications.

* Expert understanding of EMI and EMC related technology and equipment including RF Amplifiers, field probes, signal sources, EMC receivers, spectrum analyzers and measurement software.
Keen awareness of potential product weakness and the ability to provide design guidance and recommendations for improvements.

* Ability to plan and execute test projects, set priorities, and work independently under aggressive timelines.

* Expert ability to independently perform mitigation and debug efforts for both decreases of emissions as well as hardening of system immunity.

* Systematic approach in the preparation of EMI and EMC test plans, test procedures and test reports.

Experience as a Team Leader or other supervisory position is desirable but not required.

Results oriented, highly assertive with excellent time management skills.

Candidates must be familiar with the EMI and EMC regulatory environment with strong knowledge of global EMI and EMC standards and test specifications, both current and emerging requirements, including but not limited to:
MIL-STD-461 and 462
RTCA DO-160
GR-1089 (NEBS) & all RBOC Supplemental Requirements EN 300 386 EN61000-4-X FCC Parts 15, 18, 22, and 24.
CISPR 11,12,13,14,15,20,22,24
SAE J1113
BS 2135 (UK)

Candidate must have a BSEE, BSEET, or BS in Physics plus at least 5 years of direct experience working in EMI and EMC.

NARTE Certificate a plus but not required.

Candidate must be willing to travel when required.df-tc
