ESSBASE Developer -

Precision Resources a division of the Trimarc Group Inc is actively recruiting for a Hyperion Essbase Business Intelligence Developer for this permanent opportunity. You will design, develop and deploy enterprise scale Essbase, Planning and OBIEE applications. You will develop and execute unit, system integration, and user acceptance test plans and play an active role in project rollouts. Also responsible for performing outline updates, dimension builds, data loads and exports including data validation. Furthermore, perform audit compliance documentation and tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience with System 9 Hyperion Essbase and Planning and experience with OBIEE products (BI Answers, BI Dashboards, Financial Reporting, Web Analysis, and Interactive Reporting). Lastly, you must have strong development skills including ability to gather business requirements and transform into solution to meet ad hoc analysis and reporting needs.

Required Experience

• Essbase System 9 Administrative/Development Experience


• Experience with Star Schemas (Fact Tables)


• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related equivalent work experience


• 2 years experience with Hyperion System 9 and OBIEE applications (BI Answers, BI Dashboards, Financial Reporting, Web Analysis, and Interactive Reporting)


• Must have extensive (5-7 years) Essbase, Planning and Siebel Analytics development experience, including building enterprise scale applications


• Must demonstrate knowledge of Essbase best practices in application design and deployment as well as system upgrades


• 5-7 years experience in the creation, modification, and support of Essbase calculation and report scripts, load rules, Esscmd, MaxL, and Xrefs


• 3-5 years experience in Essbase ETL (extract, transfer, load) processes from relational databases


• Proven ability to transform a complex set of business requirements into intuitive, scalable Essbase, Planning and OBIEE application to solve business problems


• Advanced Excel experience required, including proven ability to utilize VBA programming to augment planning, analytical, and reporting systems


• 5 years of experience with Business Rules, HAL, and Web Input Forms


• Proficient use of Essbase Excel Add-in and SmartView in conjunction with data from Hyperion


• 5-7 years of experience with Unix and SQL Plus

Preferred Skills

• OBIEE Strong Plus and Preferred


• Siebel Analytics - Strong Plus and Preferred


• Banking Background or a comprehension of financial analysis and/or accounting
