Description
Electrical Engineer/ Engineering Technician

Scope:
* Responsible for the oversight and implementation of plant-wide (equipment, process machinery, tooling, and facilities) electrical engineering function.
* This includes machine control systems, process and plant data acquisition systems, high voltage power switching and distribution, drives and motion controls

Responsibilities:
* Competent in Wonderware SCADA systems (hardware, connectivity, data collection and report generation)
* Competent in PLC programming with high proficiency on Omron and Allen-Bradley
* Specify, design, debug and troubleshoot machine control systems
* Specify, design, debug and troubleshoot drive and motion control systems
* Implementation and troubleshooting of technologies such as sensors, vision systems and other error-proofing and inspection technologies
* Able to apply relevant industry standards, including CSA Z-432-2, Electrical Code, Pre-Start Health & Safety Reviews to design and specification of control systems
* Keep current with relevant technologies used in modern manufacturing plants
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 year College Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology
* Minimum of 5 years experience in design, integration and troubleshooting of PLC based and micro-processor based machine controls
* Documented competence in programming/troubleshooting Omron and Allen-Bradley PLC?s
* Excellent writing and oral communications
* Ability to work in team-based environment
* Competence in MS-Office software in addition to job-specific software; AutoCad 2004 experience would be an asset
* Ability to understand and work with pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and circuits is an asset
* Willingness to work overtime and respond to call-ins as required to support the plant needs
