We have an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client in Minneapolis, MN is seeking several Electrical Engineers who are High Voltage Experts. Successful candidates will have:

-BS degree in Electrical Engineering a minimum, a masters degree is a plus.

-10 years experience working with high voltage transmissions.

Overall Project View:
Customer is working with 11 other transmission-owning utilities in Minnesota and surrounding region. They are expanding the high voltage electrical transmission grid (nearly 650 miles of new 345kV transmission lines). This project involves permitting support, creating detail scopes, engineering calculations, detailed design drawings, modeling in PLS CADD, material specification & requisitions, estimating, construction support, overall project coordination and scheduling. These lines will range in voltage from 35kV to 500kV and are being installed in MN, WI, ND, SD and the upper peninsula of Michigan.

Essential Responsibilities:
Engineering calculations, detailed design drawings, material specifications, estimating, construction support and assisting with permits.

Individuals will be supporting construction and routing of new transmission lines, conducting outages, material evaluation, modeling and permits for new and existing power sources. Some work will involve new infrastructure for renewable energy such as Wind Power Transmission. Individuals will mostly be working in team environments and must be able to follow a detailed schedule to stay on track with each project.

Customer is seeking individuals who can commit to projects which normally will have at least a 2 year duration and could go for 5 years or more.

Majority of the work will be done in Minneapolis, MN with sites located in 8 mid-west and western states. Some travel to the sites may be required.
