JOB SUMMARY:
The Electronic Engineer participates in a cross-functional team environment in the design, lay-out, building, testing and troubleshooting of electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems for advanced flow measurement devices. Functions will include applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics. Additional duties include providing manufacturing and customer technical support for electronic assemblies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Uses a good understanding of electronic circuit and firmware design to develop new products and improve existing products.

2) Produces and tests electronic theoretical specifications and designs.

3) Designs analog and digital electronic circuitry, equipment and firmware. Systematically improves and changes detailed designs making sure that their performance meets a written specification.

4) Ensures design compliance with applicable standards and codes. Ensures products will work with devices developed by others, can be made again reliably, and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.

5) Assembles and builds electronic circuitry, components and prototypes according to engineering designs, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronics, using hand/power tools and soldering irons.

6) Tests electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyzes results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.

7) Writes reports and records data on testing techniques, equipment, and specifications. Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.

8) Develops and upgrades preventative maintenance procedures for components, equipment, parts and systems.

9) Develops and updates technical drawings, bill of materials and procedures.

10) Participates and/or leads research and development projects.

11) Investigates production/quality problems providing short and long term solutions.

12) Develops technical reports and provides oral presentations.

13) Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work area.

14) Maintains a commitment to teamwork and a positive, supportive attitude to all personnel.

15) Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

16) Observes and complies with all safety regulations and company policies.

REPORTING: The Electronic Engineer reports directly to the R&D Engineering Team Leader

PERFORMANCE MEASURES
1. Develops clear plans for assigned projects and executes on time with high level of accuracy and quality requiring minimal/no re-work.

2. Demonstrates effective communication of plans and expectations to team/others. Includes appropriate people in the decision making process.

3. Identifies project problems/challenges in a timely manner. Develops and implements countermeasures for results; Involves superiors and team members as appropriate.

4. Uses education, technology and/or process improvements (DBS) to increase productivity and output quality.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. BS in Electronics Engineering preferred.

2. Demonstrated experience working with analog and digital electronic circuit and firmware design.

3. Demonstrated ability to create and/or read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for designing, testing and assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.

4. Familiar with and able to design and/or use mechanical test and measurement equipment

5. Knowledgeable in the use of Design of Experiments.

6. Demonstrated stredf-tc


Experience/Skills
