Description
Essential Qualifications for All Personnel. All positions for this contract are located in any of 19 separate locations around the Pacific Rim. The majority are in Korea, Japan, Guam, Okinawa, Singapore, Diego Garcia, with some in Alaska and Hawaii. All personnel assigned to this contract shall possess the following qualifications:
Familiarity with current technologies related to small computers, COTS software for word processing, spreadsheet operations, and other utilities; operating systems (preferably UNIX/Solaris, Microsoft Windows and Windows NT, and Macintosh System 9), network functions, system administration, database management fundamentals. Ability to work in the military environment where the contractor is expected to work closely with, and as part of, a military team to meet the organization's mission objectives. This environment includes remote sites throughout the Pacific Rim. Ability to travel overseas or to the CONUS on temporary duty assignments. Ability to wear Mission-Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) equipment and participate freely in the DOD innoculation program.

Wartime Essential Personnel Designation. Personnel positions designated in task orders as Wartime Essential are required to continue performance under contingency and wartime conditions. Full-time positions in Korea, except trainers and KASC support, are Wartime Essential. Personnel will execute contractor contingency plans for those tasks that have been identified as wartime essential to provide reasonable assurance of continuation during crisis conditions.

Manages and directs the installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification of mobile and fixed high speed general and special purpose computer and switching systems, and missile control communications systems. Plans, organizes, and directs maintenance activities. Plans most economical operation by improving work methods and procedures. Ensures equipment serviceability and completeness before and after installation. Advises and assists programmers and operators on techniques for maximum system or equipment efficiency. Determines extent and economy of repair for malfunctioning equipment. Ensures compliance with technical manuals, regulations, and work standards. Interprets survey findings, and prescribes corrective action. Serves on or directs inspection teams organized to evaluate base or command maintenance programs. Recommends methods, techniques, and procedures to overcome maintenance difficulties and to improve spare parts provisioning. Manages or performs research and development projects for electronic computers, switching systems, data processing equipment, and missile control communications. Installs electronic computer and switching systems and missile control communications equipment. Checks equipment for serviceability prior to installation. Assembles, connects, and interwires components of data transmission, processing, and display equipment. Conducts detailed tests of installed equipment for proper component assembly and compliance with technical orders. Places in operation and adjusts, aligns, and calibrates components to obtain maximum efficiency. Performs corrosion control. Performs preventive maintenance. Inspects equipment to determine status. Adjusts or replaces defective parts. Uses prescribed operational testing procedures. Evaluates equipment performance to ensure system is functioning properly. Repairs and modifies electronic computer, switching systems, and missile control communications equipment. Establishes priorities and schedules repair actions. Isolates malfunctions using operational troubleshooting and testing techniques, logic diagrams and equations, voltage and waveform measurements, and other tests requiring specialized electronic test equipment. Repairs unserviceable electronic computer switching and associated data transmitting, processing, and display equipment. Tests repaired components using bench mockups and related test equipment. Calibrates and aligns system components according to technical orders and handbooks, and local procedures. Repairs missile control communications components. Devises alignment and calibration procedures. Develops repair procedures. Evaluates and recommends methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
