Description
Provide a managed engineering staff that provides expertise to assist system operators and maintenance technicians. Ensure a disciplined process of system/equipment sustainment and capabilities improvement. Accomplishes results through subordinate managers and/or associate managers, or senior level exempt/non-exempt professionals. Subject to approval, modifies the organizational structure of assigned central or program units. Directly responsible for managing/directing a staff function of the company. Develops information that extends knowledge in a given field. Information may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories, and products. Responsible for all engineering projects assigned to the department. Acts as an advisor to subordinate supervisors, managers or staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical operational problems. Directly participates in establishing and administering many centralized functional projects. Develops and administers budget, schedules, and performance standards. Must maintain a valid driver?s license.

STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION: Manages the research, design, development, and testing of a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment. Appropriate degree from an accredited college, with experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION: EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
BS degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or other technical engineering related disciplines with 5 years engineering experience and 3 years proven managerial experience on a major program, or a BS degree in a technical related Management field with a minimum of 5 years managerial experience on a major program with 10 years technical experience in related disciplines. Technical experience must be in systems and hardware engineering with radar, communications, and/or instrumentation background.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of heavy ground radar/aircraft control and warning radar systems, fire control systems and/or terrestrial command, control and communication (C3) support systems. Experience with Foreign Manufactured Equipment (FME), TACTS/ACMI, and Range Instrumentation in an operations environment beneficial. Must have an in-depth knowledge of systems integration and government requirements concerning configuration management for system documentation. Demonstrated experience managing a technical/engineering department with a minimum of 15 personnel.
