Description
Objective and General Overview
· The person who fills this position will provide development and technology support for field instrument. This person will be working with project manager and other developers and technologists. This person will also support other technology needs from development to production with the ability to help to define requirements, depending on priorities. · The current primary focus of the Electronic Hardware Designer is to design the instrument of Wave and Zedi Connect to achieve desired product quality, functionality and pricing to meet company objectives. This position is responsible for product material and hardware research in addition to product development from design specs through prototyping and pre-production stages.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Technical design role which perform hardware design, which include part troubleshooting, selection, schematic design, PCB design, generating Bill of Material and design calculations. · Generate requirements document, design document and technical report under design assurance. · Lead development effort for hardware design and development · Design field instrument in compliance with CSA intrinsically safe standard · Perform verification and validation test during design phase and conduct design reviews for peers. · Actively monitoring, researching and evaluating relevant technologies. · Perform Hazard Analyses for hazardous zone applications based upon CSA or regulatory body requirement. · Liaison with vendors/suppliers to search/identify the alternative parts and ensure manufacturing processes consistent with design direction. · Provide technical support for both internal and external customers. · Minor embedded development function as required. · Devising test methods for new devices and ensuring sufficient DFT (design-for-testability). · Provide guidance on hardware design process and methodology
Specifications, Standards, and Requirements
· Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering · Minimum of 5 years hardware development/design experience · Proficient in Altium Designer 6, Protel 99 SE, or equivalent. · Solid systems engineering background in system design, integration and test, and cost analysis in support of field instrument. · Strong analytical and problem solving skills. · Must be able to work independently and effectively in a team environment . · Strong team work skills, excellent oral/written communication skill, and the ability to deliver clear and concise technical presentation are required · High degree of organization, ability to prioritize tasks and manage many types of projects simultaneously · Immense flexibility to deal with multiple changes to information on a daily basis while under pressure.

· Mentoring, coaching and motivating other junior developers. · Field support when it is required. · Occasionally traveling is required. · Support will be 24/7 as required in special circumstances.df-tc
