Our client is a fast growing engineering design and development firm located in the Glendale area, currently looking for an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer who will become key contributor for their HDTV Video Surveillance Systems. Ideal candidate will have development experience on embedded platform, with real-time operating system. Will join an extremely fast moving and aggressive engineering team to develop firmware solutions for next generation megapixel IP cameras. Position could grow into leadership role. Responsibilities: - Design and develop firmware solutions for next generation megapixel IP cameras using C/C++ and assembly language - Develop RTOS drivers for microprocessor peripherals; optimize Linux and/or RTOS kernel to meet performance requirements on network throughput, interrupt response time, etc. - Provide technical assistance to integration partners and customers worldwide in developing applications involving megapixel IP cameras - Prepare technical documentation related to firmware development Requirements: - MSEE and 5+ years of experience with the following: - multi-threaded C and C++ application development using open source tool chain, GNU tool chain - Socket and lower level network programming and troubleshooting, network protocols - Embedded RTOS driver design and kernel optimization - Familiarity with microprocessor architecture, especially ARM, Microblaze and 8051 - Good communication skills and strong problem solving abilities Additional Pluses: - Familiarity with image compression standards JPEG and H.264, megapixel cameras, RTSP, Network Protocols HTTP, HTTPS - XML and JavaScript - Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio - Familiarity with security and surveillance applicationsdf-tc
