We have an immediate need for an Essbase Developer.

JOB DESCRIPTION
CDI has an immediate need for an Essbase Developer with one of our large corporate clients. This is at least 6 months on CDIs W-2 with the potential to be extended to 18 months.

Description:
4 year degree and 5+ years of experience.

Seeking an individual that will be able to support development of databases in Hyperion Essbase version 9.3.1 housed upon Solaris UNIX servers. Candidate must be able to work under tight deadlines and with shifting resources.

- Provide technical support and development of the Hyperion Essbase server used for financial reporting.
- A detailed knowledge of options using ESSCMD, MaxL, data loading, calc scripting, process automating, error handling, and reconciling is required.
- Existing Essbase automations are written in Perl and UNIX scripting.
- Demonstrate strong skills in Essbase tuning and configuring to optimize database and server settings for maximum performance.
- Build new relational source data feeds to store within Essbase sets of data to measure the performance of the business. This requires a solid understanding of SQL and experience with querying data from a variety of relational sources.
- Identify and define input and reporting tools designed to meet end-user needs for forecasting, out-looking and budgeting. Evaluate existing tools for redesign as necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS degree in Finance or Business or equivalent experience is desired.
- Prior experience with companies within the financial industry required.
- Five years experience as a systems analyst with strong Excel knowledge and familiarity with the Essbase Visual Basic APIs in Excel.
- Two years experience with Web development for reporting.
- Prior experience with Essbase system upgrades necessary.
- Demonstrated Essbase experience on various OS platforms a plus.
- Proficiency in UNIX and Perl a plus. A demonstrated understanding of relational database querying (Oracle, SQL, DB2 or Access) is critical.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience with third party reporting tools for Essbase.
Clarity Performance Management development experience.
