Description

Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an Field Service Engineer on a --CONTRACT TYPE-- opportunity with a leading company in Atlanta Ga

Assist Project Management team with the installation, maintenance and activation testing activities of a IPTV head end and hub facility. Troubleshoot end-to-end HE and Hub broadband video networks from the content acquisition through the video encoder system. Installations will be completed at various locations across the United States.

Functional Tasks
Proficient in installation, maintenance, training and activation and testing of video reception and processing equipment, broadband network electronic equipment, including maintenance and repair of:

* Installation of coax, fiber, and data cabling in a Head end, Hub, or CO environment
* Ability to perform various RF and Video measurements using:
* E4403B Spectrum Analyzer
* Wholer Amp 2-E8 Series+ Digital Audio Monitor Panel
* TG 700 Test Signal Generator
* WFM 700M Digital Waveform Monitor
* WVR7100 Rasterizer
* Installation/configuration of Enterprise Network Management and monitoring systems.
* Must have the ability to configure and troubleshoot IP Networks.
* Provide onsite product training to customers
* Provide ?Hands on? experience with above equipment including testing and
troubleshooting system level problems.
* Troubleshooting, Tests and Measurements - FCC proof of performance tests, test
equipment, preventive & corrective maintenance. Resolve signal quality problems.
* Identify the source of the measurement problem, and assist technical personnel in
troubleshooting to the device level.
* Provide detailed test results and documentation

Minimum Requirements:
10 years experience with CATV and/or broadcast TV installations
Ability to travel 100% to customer sites
Skilled in reading HE/Hub facility documentation, equipment rack elevation drawings and wiring diagrams
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Project, Word, Excel
High School Diploma (Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred)

Additional Information:
Contractors really need to have a combination of Headend experience with hands on experience with test equipment like the WVR7100 Rasterizer, TG 700 Signal Generator, WFM700M Wave Form Monitor, and the ability to point and peak off-air antennas. Experience with Scientific and Motorola digital receive equipment and encoders, Evertz, Sencore, Big Band BMR, Blackouts, and Ad Insertion are a plus.
