Global Management Consulting Company located in New York, NY and McLean, VA has immediate openings for Financial Improvement Senior Consultants and Managers.

Our Performance Improvement practice within the FSO helps clients better align their organizations' operating infrastructures with their strategies. We have a broad range of capabilities to assist clients with operational improvement, profitability management, finance function activities, and business integration. Our professionals focus on the assessment and redesign of business, risk, and control processes and the refinement of operating models. The goal is to support our clients' efforts to make their business units more effective and efficient and where required, provide services in connection with the remediation and mitigation of process risk. Our experience is also important to the analysis of specific business requirements for alignment with technology architecture, technology infrastructure design, and vendor selection decisions.

SENIOR CONSULTANT

Responsibilities:

Work with a team of individuals to provide client service directly to the CFO and Finance executives within world class financial institutions.

Advise clients on a variety of business process services that help identify, assess, manage and measure the risk exposure in organizations. These may include: Finance Function Strategy (Execution and Alignment), Outsourcing/Offshoring, Shared Services and Finance Risk and Control Process Improvement

Research emerging industry trends, regulatory guidance, and best practices.

Critically analyze the policies, procedures, people, processes, and systems used by financial institutions to identify, assess, measure, monitor and control significant issues or risks.

Recommend modifications to client infrastructures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and risk management programs.

Design and implement quality, practical business approaches.

Assist with technology selection, architecture, and infrastructure design.

Requirements:

To qualify, candidates must have:

a bachelor's degree and approximately 2 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience

a degree in finance, accounting, or a related business discipline (Masters or MBA degree preferred

a minimum of 2 years experience in providing advisory services in the finance function and other operational areas that impact the finance function (eg, order to cash; procure to pay; close to report; budgeting and planning, shared services/outsourcing)

experience with the design, development and implementation of internal controls for financial services business processes a plus

basic understanding of accounting, regulatory and compliance concepts prevalent in banking and other financial institutions

excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client presentations

strong analytical skills; specifically, the ability to assess and decompose financial services industry processes utilizing a risk and control focus

effective leadership, project management and teamwork skills

willingness to travel approximately 50%, on average

MANAGER

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management. Collaborate to plan engagement objectives and a strategy that addresses risk and performance improvement. Manage expectations of service delivery. Stay informed of business/economic developments and their impact to the client.

Demonstrate high levels of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilates new knowledge. Keep up-to-date with current developments and trends in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.

Deliver quality services. Value and model excellent client service by establishing goals and implementation plans to achieve a high quality deliverables and within expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and confirm key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.

Develop people. Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/training. Foster an innovative and team-oriented work environment.

Commit to developing knowledge, continue to learn and share knowledge with clients and team members. Respect/protect client information.

Generate new business opportunities. Understand company and its service lines and actively assess/present ways toserve clients. Develop long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with other team members across all practices to serve client needs.

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • a bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience
  • a degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Economics, and/or Business; MBA and/or CPA is preferred
  • approximately 4+ years of experience in the financial services industry, providing advisory services in the finance function and other operational areas that impact the finance function (eg ; General Ledger Reconciliations, Chart of Accounts Rationalization & Design, Close to Report;Cost Reduction Initiatives, Funds Transfer Pricing, Budgeting and Planning, )
  • experience in managing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations
  • demonstrated record in driving revenue within existing clients at the `C` level of Fortune 500 companies
  • experience in program management for large scale business transformation projects and programs
  • work collaboratively in a team environment (knows when to lead and when to follow)
  • experience managing staff on multiple projects and providing direction to team members
  • willingness to travel50%
