Required Skills::
  • Three to five years experience managing enterprise level firewalls for Data Center environment.
Tasks:
  • The Firewall Administrator will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support to resolve customer support issues and services as they relate to Firewall monitoring, performance, and access control.
  • This person will manage security architecture and surrounding infrastructure for the Client and federal agencies.
  • This person will manage the status of all assigned trouble tickets to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner. The Tasks: and duties of this position include but are not limited to:
  • Performs standard troubleshooting of firewall, content scanning, e-mail, DNS, and networking problems and outages pertaining to mail flow
  • Monitors and reports status for Firewalls and email systems to include active connections, logging activity, disk space, suspicious log activity, and cluster load balance
  • Modifies Firewall configurations and rule bases as requested by Engineering group
  • Identifies and prevents viruses and other malicious codes from entering the network
  • Ensures the policies and procedures for network security are implemented and enforced
  • Reviews and troubleshoots potential problems/threats related to infrastructure and all inter-agency connections
  • Insures all traffic originating from within complies with agencies policies
ITIL Specific Functional Roles:
  • Engineering staff can also receive assignments as analysts during the Change Management Process, the Problem Management Process, the Test and Release & Deployment Process. Their assignments and functions are as follows:
  • Change Impact and Assessment Analysis for RFCs
  • Problem Analysis/Root Cause analysis either proactively or reactively to solve incidents and unsatisfactory performance trends
  • Implements changes based on approved RFCs
  • IT environment development, testing, building and deploying release packages to the production environment
Required Education & Certifications:
  • BS Degree or equivalent experience
  • System Administration Certification
  • ITIL v3 Foundations Certification
