Functional Description:
Summary:
The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering all business needs from the Client at their location. Creating business and functional requirements, application documentation, and management of client deliverable documentation. In addition, the business analyst becomes the SME for the Client’s business needs for execution of application software implementation. This analyst works closely with project managers, business users, software development team, and implementation team.

Major Activities

70% Requirements Documentation – Takes direction from the Project Manager and Business Analyst Manager for project requirements of new business applications. Gathers requirements for the Business Analyst team and documents the Requirement Definitions for the implementation team.

30% Documentation preparation and client deliverables including business requirements, testing results, training documentation, and/or system documentation. Responsible for managing the deliverable schedule for implementation documentation. Prepares project deliverable templates and coordinates content production among other implementation teams.



Education and Typical Years Experience
Education:

Undergraduate degree in business administration, computer science, or management information systems, or comparable industry experience or education.

Experience:

Industry Experience –Business Analyst experience in gathering, writing business and functional requirements to meet client’s needs. Lead JAD sessions and effectively communicate results of these sessions with Business Analyst team. Involvement with business applications related to EHR healthcare business in the commercial or government sector is preferred, but not required. Equivalent educational experience may be substituted for this requirement.

3-4 years experience working in an application development IT environment or equivalent education experience.

Candidate must have at least four years of Business Analyst experience with Health Care applications.


Special Requirements
Time Management – Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is required. Candidate must be flexible, well organized and able to work well under pressure. Candidate must work well without close supervision.

Communication Skills – Candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must have professional demeanor and positive experience working with a client team.

10% travel
