Description
The PeopleSoft Functional Manager oversees the functional aspects of all application software technologies in the PeopleSoft environment. Provides overall direction and integration of the functional aspects of the PeopleSoft Financials product. Oversees, defines and monitors critical path activities, resolves issues, and escalates complex matters as appropriate. Assesses current practices and influences business leadership and management decisions toward ownership and acceptance of necessary changes to business process.
Provides direction and guidance to other FSA staff. Oversees on a project basis, staff responsible for analysis and resolution of application logic difficulties and documentation of same. Ensures appropriate functional design, test, debugging, and documentation, based on user defined needs and associated corporate direction/scope.

Education
Degree in computer science, accounting, or business. At least 4 years hands on experience in both a financial and PeopleSoft environment, including 3+ years PeopleSoft operations and implementation experience. Ongoing education in the areas of interpersonal skills, business process skills, and PeopleSoft training. Training or experience in functional support of the PeopleSoft application packages (Financials), including installations and upgrades.

Knowledge and Skills
This position is a top functional and product expert in at least one (Financials) and preferably more PeopleSoft application software packages. Proven communication and leadership skills essential. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Knowledge of Windows server/Office 2000, and HP/UX, Sun/Oracle environments.


Specific Duties

1. Communicates and coordinates with other staff, managers, and project team members to ensure appropriate integration of processes and modules across enterprise;
2. Creates test plans, executes tests, evaluates results and recommends solutions;
3. Leads the design and development of business processes. Applies knowledge of PeopleSoft application to organization-specific needs and processes
4. Coordinates or directly develops courseware and curricula of training programs that will address process changes for end-users;
5. Support and oversee the Psoft functional operations/development environments taking into consideration at all times desktop/network/database server system capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
6. Train other functional staff on process approach, project standards and methodologies;
7. Propose schedules for completing changes;
8. Work with Peoplesoft Manager and Business Analysts to define necessary process modifications to PeopleSoft systems;
9. Develop test plans for unit testing, integration testing, system testing and stress testing;
10. Must actively support transition of knowledge and responsibility to FSA and FD staff as appropriate.
11. Work with other managers and subordinates to resolve performance issues;
12. Ensure documentation/standardization of auxiliary programs or interfaces to PeopleSoft enterprise custom applications;
13. Observe quality assurance procedures and review of work to ensure integrity;
14. Assist in determining project scopes and necessary tools/resources on ongoing basis for both enterprise and niche operations work and projects;
15. Attend offsite meetings as needed to support miscellaneous reporting/applications needs;

Prior Experience
. Extensive experience with PeopleSoft Financials;
. Minumum 3 years PeopleSoft functional experience, and experience in use of Query, SQR, nVision, Crystal;
. Minimum 2-3 years experience working with financial applications;
. Financial background desirable; experience as implementation team leader a plus;
