Description
Genesis10 is seeking several Functional or Technical Business Analysts with 4010/5010 EDI Transaction experience for a major client in Minneapolis, MN. These are long-term projects.

Responsibilities:
- Perform high-level and complex analysis, design, construction, testing and implementation of 5010/ICD10 initiative.
- Analyze customer needs and existing functions in the area of HIPAA transactions to determine feasibility and requirements for computerization, consistent with the established and documented scope of work.
- Examine/monitor federal and state laws, rules and regulations to translate them into understandable language for use by information technology professionals.
- Work with the customer to identify, discuss and document operational problems, "what the customer wants" the system to do, needed training, needed products such as how individual screens should "look and feel" to users, system alerts, client notices, reports, forms, and other physical or data items that will be generated by a user to ensure compliance with federal and state mandates and to accommodate the business work flows of the affected entities.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with, and may facilitate, mapping of "to-be" processes that are aligned with the MITA maturity model and the CMS certification checklist.
- Assist with, and may facilitate, the process for requirements validation that follows the MITA process/sub-process business model.
- Understand Functional/Technical (Data Model) flow of 4010 HIPAA Transactions and identify the new 5010 segments/element changes required with minimum changes to system.
- Analyze, prepare business rules and assist technical team in design and create mapping documents for 5010 HIPAA Transactions.
- Identify the DML and data changes required to accommodate new segment / element for new 5010 Transactions.
- Analyze 4010 loading business, Validating Edits for HIPAA transactions and accommodate new 5010 changes business requirements.
- Prepare and Create Test Case/Test Data according to 5010 Business requirements.
- Test all HIPAA transactions that involves multi version support (4010 and 5010) and validating the database to file elements and vice versa.
- Collaborate with the customer to develop acceptance test criteria.
- Create appropriate documentation (e.g., requirements validation documentation, business and technical design documentation).
- Capture logical flow of system/business through use case documentation.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer in transitioning the new system to client.df-tc

Experience/Skills
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have experience with X.12 transactions and be familiar with Enrollment/Claims/Eligibility business processes in a healthcare setting.
- 5+ years of IT Business Analysis experience gathering / documenting business requirements.
- Responsible for documenting Functional/Technical (Data Model) flow of 4010 HIPAA Transactions and identify the new 5010 segments/element changes required within the system.
- Responsible for documenting logical flow of system/business functionality through use cases.
- Will coordinate activities involved in QA and User Acceptance Testing.
- Experience with translating Business Requirements into technical specifications.
- Experience with documenting and coordination UAT test scripts/data for EDI transaction sets.
- Knowledge of the SDLC.
- Experience developing Use Cases and working knowledge of UML.
- Microsoft Visio, Project and Excel.
- *Experienced, both technical and analytical, in at least one of the following EDI HIPAA transactions (837 P/D/I, 820, 834, 276/277, 270/271, 278) analysis and design (Validation, Translation & Loading) using COTS products in the healthcare industry.
