Description
Prestigious company located in Seattle is currently seeking a GSM Test and Deployment Engineer. Candidates must have experience in deploying and testing GSM mobile core network infrastructure such as HLRs, SMSCs, Prepaid or Voice Mail into mobile networks. Candidates will enjoy working as a "hands-on" team member with all functions and levels inside company to meet its external commitments. Candidate must be comfortable with 30% travel with some travel occurring on relatively short notice.

Functional Experience:

Candidates must have experience of the following activities
1. Supporting telecommunications core network products and/or systems on-site at customer premises.
2. Performing remote-based phone support of core network products and/or systems.
3. Performing on-site installation of advanced Unix based software systems for telecommunications.
4. Performing on-site integration of telecommunications core network systems with existing customer-based systems.
5. Performing complex integration of telecommunications applications with SS7 subsystems, e.g., STPs.
6. Preparing system acceptance test strategies and test plans.
7. Executing internal system test and external acceptance test at customer sites.
8. Debugging faults found during testing: collect diagnostic information; co-ordinate with application developers and system software (UNIX/SS7) groups to devise and obtain fixes and workarounds; develop local software patches.
9. Testing fixes and workarounds.
10. Providing primary technical interface between company and its customers for test and installation of software, and resolution of technical queries and faults.




Experience/Skills
Technical Knowledge and Experience



Candidates must have sound demonstrable knowledge and experience the following technologies:

  • Any GSM Core network elements: Home Location Register, Intelligent Network, Mobile Switching Center (MSC), Short Message Service Center, Prepaid Server, Voice Mail; HLR experience preferred
  • Unix, Solaris, or Linux
  • SS7 signaling protocols (MAP, TCAP, SCCP, SIGTRAN, etc.)
