Description
Under minimum Supervision, plans and performs research, design and development of new products and maintenance and enhancement of existing products.

Essential Functions: Performs digital and analog electrical hardware design for new products; works with operations/Purchasing and engineering personnel to create prototypes for evaluation and testing. Designs, modifies and evaluates electronic devices, components, assemblies or circuitry for use in electronics equipment and devices. Analyzes products to establish worst case design operation and conducts experimental tests for design validation for environmentally extreme conditions.
Contributes as a strong team player using technical and communication skills in global product development teams consisting of cross-functional team members.

Provides engineering support to factory floor and customers to help resolve technical issues Performs maintenance activities which include developing system enhancements and in planning upgrades.

Provides advice and analysis as a participant in product development teams. Proceeds on own initiative for most phases of work and only requires general direction for new activities. Communicates with good interpersonal skills, in a professional manner with peers, associates in other departments, suppliers and customers Works diligently on assigned projects and tasks to complete on time within budget

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience. GPA - over 3.0
 
Desirable Knowledge/Skills: Hardware design: Selection and design with microprocessors, microcontrollers, DSPs and other digital circuit devices. Digital logic design, ADC/DAC usage, signal integrity analysis, timing analysis, schematic capture, simulation, PCB layout, mitigation of crosstalk and noise due to artwork or circuit interaction, low/micro power design. Analog design: Experience with the design of analog filters and signal conditioning circuits. Microprocessors: Usage or technical knowledge of TI DSP, analog devices DSP, or ARM processors is a plus. Embedded systems knowledge: Working knowledge of c/c is desirable. Tools: Experience with the following design tools a plus: ORCAD, Microcap, PSPICE, IAR, Kiel, Code composer Experience: 0 to 5 years General: Ability to work with little direct supervision. Good verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma is a plus. Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting in the sedentary (10 lbs. or less) to medium (up to 50 lbs.) range. Desk work for extended periods of time to include work on computers. Infrequent travel required.df-tc
