Description
The Help Desk Specialist will support the Information Systems function by providing telephone support for technical issues relating to hardware and software. In this role you will be the primary point of contact for users experiencing computer-related problems; refer to technical manuals or vendor technical support for more complex issues; or if necessary, escalates call to higher level support staff; and logs all incoming calls in order to ensure timely and sufficient follow-up. Interacts with vendors, purchases or returns items and coordinates warranty issues in order to procure requested items and resolve service issues. Maintains physical inventory records and network documentation to provide an accurate record of computer equipment.

Ideal candidates will posses the following skills:
Excellent customer service skills; demonstrates concern and respect for others in all interactions, and inspires their confidence and trust.
Basic understanding of Windows NT and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Self-motivation and independent problem solving skills, requiring only minimal direct supervision.
Good troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve problems in a timely manner.



Minimum Education and Training:
High School plus additional course work gained through attendance at vocational, technical or business school or equivalent experience.
Required Experience:
1 to 3 years experience in a technical/customer service position. Knowledge of Windows NT and Microsoft Office applications is required.df-tc
