Help Desk Support

Job Responsibilities

. The principal job responsibility consists of providing Help Desk - Level 3 support for the Desktop Services Group in a client/server environment.
. This includes acting as the day-to-day central point of contact for problems/requests directed to Desktop Services via an automated problem tracking system (Remedy), and performing 3rd-level problem resolution in the areas of knowledge listed below.
. This person will work closely with clients, other group members, other IT support areas, and selected vendors (i.e., Sentinel) to assure timely and accurate resolution of client issues.
. Travel and off-hour pager support are NOT expected for this position.

The candidate should have knowledge of the following:

. Microsoft Office 2003 products and Microsoft Outlook.
. Administrator-level support for a corporate network print environment.
. Microsoft XP client support in an Active Directory environment.
. PC hardware architecture.
. Remote-assistance concepts.
. LAN/WAN topology (i.e., file rights, drive mappings, server attaching, navigation and implications of LAN ID administration.) in XP operating environment.
. Internet Explorer 6.0 functionality.
. Authoring technical documentation for knowledgebase articles.
. Knowledge of the following is considered a plus, but not a requirement: roaming profiles, BMC Remedy, wireless client support, ITIL processes, MS Office 2007, HP Radia.
