Position Description
Skilled systems engineer needed to serve as IAMD Battle Command System (IBCS) Lead Systems Engineer and a key member of the IBCS contractor team. This person will lead development of the Plug and Fight Kit requirements and integration of the IBCS with legacy Army Air and Missile Defense systems, such as Patriot. These legacy systems utilize antiquated protocols and message sets. A major IBCS challenge is to design and produce an elegant and robust method of interfacing these legacy systems to an integrated fire control network. Actual interfacing will involve undetermined hardware interfaces with an undetermined amount of software interaction. Develop the plan for documenting interface details and agreements. Responsibilities will include requirements analysis, definition, allocation, and verification. Experience in requirements management and hardware/software interface definition and documentation is required. Strong communication skills are essential.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 9 to 13 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 7 to 11 years experience or a PhD degree with 4 to 8 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
