Must have : Experience in Web application design and a solid understanding of contemporary Web design principles (Web 2.0, social networking, search, communities, etc.)5 years working in a Information Architecture and Interaction design role, at least 2 in Web application design (high transaction, complex websites, SaaS)Working Knowledge related to Web design and modern software development (eg working knowledge of CSS, JavaScript, HTML, etc.) - Should be able to do some coding for prototype creation. Must be able to design in the latest technologies. Website is built on AJAX technologyExpertise with design support tools (FIREWORKS IS THEIR STANDARD) such as: Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Omnigraffle, Visio.Strong knowledge of graphic design principles including typography, color theory and layoutAbility to present and explain complex concepts, designs and interaction models to a variety of audiencesCapable of being an individual contributor and working as part of a tightly integrated teamHighly adaptable with good organizational capabilities

Job Description: This is a chance to join a small vibrant team within client developing a new product and business for the company centered on searching, selecting and sharing architectural and engineering design content. As a member of the product design team you will be responsible for the visual design and interactive experience of Seek (or of one of it's various integrations). As a relatively new Web product, client Seek already incorporates numerous contemporary web-design principles and in this role you will be expected to continue to drive these and in doing so, set a very high bar for new Web based applications in client. This role reports to the Senior Product Designer in the client*s Content Network.

Responsibilities:Conceptual and detailed design of the Seek service, ancillary tools and the integration of Seek into other products and Web propertiesPropose and develop novel UI concepts and stay current with trends in Web-based UIs as well as search and other related fieldsDevelop design specifications and work collaboratively with the engineering team to ensure efficient and correct implementationWork closely with the Product Management and Business roles in our group to understand the best ways to address customer needs, as well as or strategic direction.Liaise with the Seek engineering team and cross-divisionally as needed to understand technical directions and capabilities to ensure that our user-interface is reliable, efficient and achievablePerform targeted user research to analyze customer requirements together with Product ManagementTargeted validation of new features or concepts with users using various means from conceptual prototypes and focus groups through to analyzing actual product usage patternsIncorporate branding and corporate standards where appropriateMaintain familiarity with other client*s products to ensure compatibility with features shared across our product familySkills required for success: Experience in Web application design and a solid understanding of contemporary Web design principles (Web 2.0, social networking, search, communities, etc.)Strong knowledge of graphic design principles including typography, color theory and layoutSome technical background related to Web design and modern software development (eg working knowledge of CSS, JavaScript, HTML, etc.)Expertise with design support tools such as: Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Omnigraffle, Visio.Ability to present and explain complex concepts, designs and interaction models to a variety of audiencesCapable of being an individual contributor and working as part of a tightly integrated teamHighly adaptable with good organizational capabilitiesOther desired skills: Experience in using CAD software or operating as part of either an architecture or mechanical design organizationSome experience working with teams operating using an Agile methodologyExperience in working with remote teams
