Network Engineer
Position Summary: This is a position within the Network Services Group which has responsibility for the design, implementation, operational support of the IP network infrastructure to meet the Regional Area Network and Internet business needs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Primary technical resource on IP Router network technologies. Analyze IP network design and traffic flows for network optimization in the Regional Area Networks. Configure OSPF and BGP routing to efficiently distribute customer traffic in Regional Area Network Interface with Capacity planning to analyze traffic engineering data to forecast network capacity requirements. Provide technical support for IP network problems including scheduled 24/7 on-call responsibilities. Follow Engineering design life cycle with proper documentation handoff to LMC operations groups ensuring that all detailed designs adhere to established network standards. Develop test and acceptance criteria for IP networks.
Post production Lab experience
CPE Cable modem knowledge in provisioning, boot files, testing, etc. Some travel may be required

Requires: Associate Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Broad knowledge of Cisco Routers and Switches is required Broad knowledge of Cisco, Arris and Motorola CMTS and Cable Modem is preferred. Strong TCP/IP background. Knowledge of the following network protocols is preferred: RIP, OSPF, BGP,HSRP, CIDR,TCP/UDP, TFTP,DHCP,NAT/PAT,DNS, etc. CCNA or higher Preferred
Juniper Certification Preferred Creative, self-motivated team player
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects as well as to lead small, directed projects. Knowledge of Telephony would help.
