Description
We are currently seeking a qualified Systems/Network Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity with our client in the Alpharetta, GA area.

This project is expected to start within the next 3-4 weeks and last for an initial duration of 12 months. There is a very high likelihood of full time conversion.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for working with business enterprise customers to remotely manage their Web hosting and content distribution infrastructure as well as the IP Networks that run the applications.

Day to day tasks will include:
- Providing Tier 2-3 support and fault resolution to business enterprise customers
- UNIX, RHEL Linux and Windows system/server administration
- IP Networking, including Server Load Balancing (using Alteon or F5)
- Restoring IP Network and Server service on complex outages
- Performing Change Control/MACD Work
- Providing technical guidance to Tier 1 and Tier 2 associates
- Working in a high availability environment with cutting edge technologies

The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge of Internet DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, Web Acceleration, Media Streaming Protocols and Vendors, Content caching, Server Load Balancing, F5 or Alteon Load Balancers, and VoD technologies.

An active Cisco Certification at the CCNA level is required. Additional CCNP, CCIE and/or MCSE Certifications would be preferred, but are not required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

- CCNA Certification at a minimum
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- Strong Windows, Linux and UNIX System/Server Administration
- Experience with DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, IP Networking
- Experience with F5 Load Balancers or Alteon technologies
- Experience with Content Distribution, VoD, Media, Cached technologies
