Overview-General Summary: Provides technical support to Client for roaming implementation project. Responsible for implementation and testing of roaming services. Manages project plan based on Client's expectations. Answers technical support queries and implements fixes for roaming related problems. Works on cross-functional teams to proactively address support issues. Creates and maintains documentation for roaming partners. Coordinates with customers to resolve technical support issues.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Work with Client roaming department to create all roaming related documentation in accordance with GSM standards. Support Client network engineering group in creating, defining and implementation of network requirements to enable roaming. Establishment and testing of InterconnecT between Client and its signalling provider/roaming partners. Signaling set up, testing and confirmation with Roaming Partner, including: Scheduling testing between Client and the Roaming Partner. Exchange test documents with roaming partner for voice, SMS, GPRS, CAMEL. SIM Management (exchanging SIM for testing if required). Work in conjunction with Client staff to create IR.21. IR.21 exchange with Roaming Partner. General roaming troubleshooting where necessary. Implementation and troubleshooting of network Data fill. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the Roaming project and scope. Train client staff on GSM testing processes and standards.
Job Requirements:Technical Requirements-BS degree in Engineering, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience. 5+ years relevant professional experience in the areas of technical customer support, problem management and roaming implementation. Strong troubleshooting and error analysis skills. Familiarity with GSM testing methods.
Required Interpersonal Skills:Exceptional customer service skills and demeanor, along with the innovative ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical clients. Excellent analytical, multitasking, and communication skills (both verbal and written), detail orientation and familiarity with testing and troubleshooting techniques. Manager Provided Job Details:This position will report to the Outsourced Roaming Product Manager. The IREG Engineer will work onsite at Client location assisting in roaming network set up, roaming network data fill, roaming billing testing and roaming implementation. The successful candidate will be a self starter and must have excellent communication skills and previous Telecom experience.
