Robert Half Technology is looking for a Business Analyst for a downtown law firm in Detroit. Ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, upgrades, daily operation and user support of practice support applications and databases, including but not limited to Litigation (Summation, CaseMap), Immigration (ImmForms), Intellectual Property (PATTSY, IPDAS), and others. Assist with firm administrative applications and databases, including Accounting, HR, Records, IS, Library, Business Development, and Central Services. Ensure reliability and stability of firm systems, including proper backup procedures, security procedures, and business continuity considerations as necessary. Determine feasibility of newly requested software applications, test and anticipate conflicts with existing firm software. Work with enterprise applications staff to integrate applications as appropriate. Interact with departmental liaisons to ensure systems are installed and maintained properly according to desired standards, also work with liaisons to develop best practices, processes and procedures. Observe standard practices for scheduling and reporting, which are made available to the IS staff. Develop oral and written communication to ensure appropriate intra and interdepartmental information flow, schedule and conduct meetings accordingly. Develop and participate in vendor relationships. Assist manager with budget planning and forecasting. Assist with and suggest priorities for the development of quarterly and annual development schedules for the workgroup, meet regularly with users and management to report and track progress and evaluate results.Work with others in department to schedule and plan maintenance upgrades.
