IT Analyst-Forestry
Columbia Falls, MT

Job Description
Primary Function:
Responsible for developing deep knowledge of Plum Creek business processes, and the information systems that support those processes. Serves as translator between functional and technical experts.

Responsible for translating the business requirements into documented functional and technical specifications.

Trains, develops, coaches, and mentors functional users to continuously improve their technology skills and the value received from technology tools.

Serves as activity manager of technical, functional or external resources for support, development, testing and implementation activities. Will have multiple activities running concurrently.


Provides creative information technology opportunities to add value to the business line.

Education Required:
Degree in Information Technology, or other degree plus Information Technology experience or relevant experience.

Experience Required:
Entry-level to five years information technology experience. Ideal candidate will have experience in development, business process, technical support, and business relationships. Successful candidate could have depth in one or modf-tc


Experience/Skills
Experience in one or more of the following forest industry areas considered a plus: resource management, forestry, manufacturing, finance. Specific Skills Required: System development life cycle (SDLC) methodology would be helpful. Knowledge and experience with packaged and/or custom systems implementation methodology, including business case development, analysis, design, training, testing, and support. Activity management. Documenting, tracking, and resolving issues; documenting project status and communicating project status to management. Must have the ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities concurrently. Application development experience including code and report development, preferred.
