GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position entails leading the tactical implementation, operation, and maintenance of PolyOne's multi-site Microsoft Active directory 2003 environment, Microsoft Exchange 2007 cluster environment serving 4000 end-users; including monitoring servers, replication, organization and mail routing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Serves as Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange 2007 electronic mail technician providing 3rd level support of Enterprise Microsoft Operating System-based servers.
-Manages Windows platforms world-wide that provide authentication services for end-users.
-Manages centralized Exchange e-mail system running on Blade systems attached to the Storage Area Network (SAN) in Avon Lake, OH.
-Manages multiple and ongoing projects working with team members from various areas of the business.
-Balances efforts of Enterprise Computing team to include an appropriate level of day-to-day problem-solving versus long-term projects and solutions
-Security and efficiency of all Microsoft based business systems is maintained and continually improved
- Continuous support of PolyOne's Microsoft Active Directory,servers,services that comprise the domain.
-Experience administering a Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 cluster housed on an enterprise-level Storage Area Network (SAN).
-Monitors, evaluates and troubleshoots the existing Exchange 2007 and Active Directory 2003 implementation(s) etc.
-Tests patches and patch Active Directory servers and Exchange servers on an ongoing basis.
-Assists in the development of project plans, implementation etc. relating to PolyOne's Active Directory and Exchange environment.
-Adheres to a strict change management policy to ensure timely notification
-Adheres to problem management practices that focus on root cause analysis and prevention of future problems.
-Trains other administrative staff members and effectively documents technical and operational procedures.
-Plans and manages the use of Public Folders, wireless devices (Blackberry, etc.), Outlook Web Access (OWA)
-Protects, maintains, continuously improves security of PolyOne Windows-based systems.
-Works with application development team to create "Value add" business systems.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-Excellent working knowledge of all aspects of Microsoft Operating systems, e-mail systems, and related products.
Required Length & Type of Experience:
-Minimum 5 to 7 years experience in a technical role managing Active Directory and Exchange services for a global organization.
-Minimum 5 to 7 years direct Windows NT/ Windows 2000/Windows 2003 administration experience.
-Extensive experience in Architecture and design of Active Directory and Exchange e-mail systems.
-Experience managing Active Directory Core services and Exchange 2003/2007 on enterprise-class SAN equipment.
-Experience Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS).
-Experience Microsoft SQL Server.

Required Certification, Licenses, Registration:
-Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MSCE) certification required.
