Description
JCPenney Information Technology has an immediate opening for an Applications Specialist in the Plano, TX corporate office. The primary job responsibility for the Application Specialist in the IT Evaluation and Support Group area is to develop, integrate, and support infrastructure applications related to IT assets. This would include applications that are used by various IT groups.

Responsibilities:
1. Develop applications in C#, ASP.Net, VB.Net, Etc.
2. Support new and existing applications.
3. Integrate in house written applications and off the shelf software to meet business requirements.
4. Independently manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously and making the best technical decisions.

Technical Qualifications:
1. College Degree in Computer Science preferred, Comparable Work Experience acceptable.
2. Have at least 2 - 5 yrs experience in developing applications in one or all of the following languages:
a. C++, C#, C#.Net
b. ASP or ASP.Net
c. VB or VB.Net
d. VBScript
3. Must have experience with Microsoft SQL Server and be able to develop stored procedures.
4. Have experience in working with and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
5. Experience in working with and troubleshooting Personal Computers a plus.
6. Visual Studio .NET application developments experience a plus.
7. Microsoft Certifications a plus.
8. Working Knowledge of the following products is a plus:
a. Microsoft Active Directory
b. MS SQL Analysis Services
c. MS SQL Reporting Services

Additional Qualifications:
1. The job requires a self starter who can function fully autonomously in their job.
2. The ability to represent the JCPenney Company professionally when dealing with other companies is mandatory.
3. Good written and verbal communications skills are a requirement, since the job will require frequent communication with associates in many departments and at many different technical levels.
4. Successful associates are friendly, enthusiastic, and like working with people.
5. Qualified associates must have effective presentation skills.
