JOB DESCRIPTION
CDI is looking for an Application Development Director to work in Los Angeles, CA. We are looking for an experienced Director in Web Applications Development to join and lead a dynamic team that is responsible for interactive, content rich Web applications. As the Director of Application Development you will be responsible for architecting, deploying, maintaining, and directing efficient and content rich Web applications. You will be responsible for the team that develops and enhances scalable architecture with cutting edge features. Primary responsibilities will be to create and guide the development of a next generation of Web applications being built using the latest Microsoft and associated Web technologies, while employing best practices. Experience in content management and Web 2.0 is highly preferred.

CDI is looking for someone with exceptional experience and leadership skills. You must be experienced at the Director level and possess strong problem solving skills, analytical skills, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You must possess outstanding collaboration skills and possess sound business judgment. We are seeking individuals that are highly resourceful and have proven their success and deliverables.

Position Description: You will be responsible for reporting directly to Executive Level Management and be a member of a dynamic management team that consists of professionals experienced in online application development. This team is responsible for the development on online advertising platforms and growing online business. You will be primarily responsible for leading, developing, recruiting, and training Application Programmers and Software Engineers in the development and delivery of Websites and associated tools and applications. You will also be expected to supervise products through requirements gathering, design, development, and maintenance, as well as partner with multiple IT teams throughout the corporation.

Primary Responsibilities: Lead the development team in the specification, design and development of applications, including a family of websites. Lead, recruit, develop and supervise the development team members. Provide a good balance of experience and skills in several Front End and Back End technologies, including XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, SOA, AJAX, .NET framework technologies (C# and MVC), and SQL. Ensure proper development of technical specifications and documentation. Resource allocation and timelines for development team. Review team members' detailed design documents.

Position Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Management Information Systems is preferred. You must possesses over 7 years of hands on experience in software and dynamic Web application development in a high volume, business to business transactional environment. Over 2 y ears of experience in a Sr. Leadership role directing the efforts of a software development team of 4 or more members. You must have an advance understanding of Web application development architecture including 3-tier model and HTTP, Cookies, etc. You must also be able to mentor others in these technologies. Excellent experience in .NET software development with the latest Web technology experience including AJAX and RIA. You must also be experienced in working with the business community and other project stakeholders with the ability to translate technical requirements into business implications. Previous experience managing both onsite and off shore development teams. Additional qualifications include a level headed and thoughtful approach to management. You must be detail oriented and demonstrate excellent business acumen and judgment.
