Join our innovative team for the following position:

One of the leading companies in the Pittsburgh, PA area has an immediate need for a Business Unit IS Lead. The successful candidate will have 10 years of work experience, with at least 5 years experience in a senior Information Technology management position managing a portfolio of projects and applications for a business unit(s), in addition to a Bachelor's Degree. This position will serve as the department head, and report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and Group Chief Information Officer. The main responsibility of this person will be to manage a group of approximately 75 IT professionals across North America.

Required:
. Ability to demonstrate experience of creating and managing teams across multiple-locations, borders and time zones
. A demonstrated track record of partnering with C-level executives and their direct reports across the enterprise
. Strong business acumen and industry knowledge in ideally in the Power and/or Natural Gas sector, a recognized utility company, or B2B retail sector
. A reputation for "getting the job done"
. Knowledge of current and historical trends in Information Technology
. A good understanding of software development standards and best practice
. Experience of using the web to manage the cost of serving retail customers
. Familiarity with the following:
? Key technology vendors
? Energy trading
? B2B marketing
? Business intelligence techniques and trends
? BSB and retail billing
? Customer care and collections
? Call center operations
? Regulation of the Utility Sector in North America and/or Europe
? Process engineering techniques such as Six Sigma

Responsibilities:
. Work with leadership on aligning IS with the strategic intent and/or priorities
. Take responsibility for all application development, maintenance, integration and change management activities
. Build a strong IS team to execute the client strategy across North America.
. Develop and effectively manage operating and capital budgets
. Actively participate as a member of the IS Leadership and IS Senior Management Team, including responsibility for ad hoc assignments
. Develop comprehensive project management, SDLC standards and repeatable processes to deliver on time, on budget and on purpose
. Partner with sales, marketing, brokers and PPM on their strategic planning process
. Create a positive work environment and evangelize the company IS culture within the IS team
. Leverage current technologies and software development techniques including Agile Development
. Foster and manage vendor relationships to deliver and manage information technology solutions
. Manage outsourced IT vendors in overseas locations, for example India or China
. Preside over the IT governance committee to set the IT priorities of the business unit
. Establish clearly defined IS metrics and deliverables
. Ensure key applications have the appropriate infrastructure in place to scale with the growth of the business
. Lead or manage business process engineering initiatives supported by technology implementations
. Lead the creation and maintenance of a business architecture, supported with technology and data management strategies
. Work with partners in the UK to share best practice and learning
