Description
The IT Infrastructure Manager is wholly responsible for an assigned group of System Engineers and other technical specialists who as a team support one or more key technical functions. The Manager supervises all aspects of the assigned team including day-to-day supervision, performance evaluation, and assignment to IT Projects and/or Production Support functions. The Manager is also responsible for all administrative and budgetary tasks involved in running the team.

In addition to running the team, the IT Infrastructure Manager has primary responsibility for an assigned technical function. They must ensure the stability and performance of the systems or platforms they support. The Manager must build and maintain professional relationships with their corresponding Application or Infrastructure and Architecture Teams they interact with. The IT Infrastructure Manager must create an environment of Customer Service while ensuring the Winn Dixie technical environment follows Infrastructure and Architecture Standards.

Lead the Infrastructure Team that is assigned to them.

Take responsibility for key IT Projects within their assigned area. This means either participating in Projects or serving as Project Manager depending on size and scope of project.

Develop and maintain solid professional relationships with Application teams and other Infrastructure teams. Maintain the difficult balance between strong Customer Service while ensuring adherence to and support of policies and architectural direction.

Conduct Annual Performance reviews and maintain salary and career development responsibility for all subordinates.

Ensure stability and performance for the technical functions they are responsible for.

Maintain working relationships with their technology vendors and keep up with normal and customary upgrades and maintenance.

Keep abreast of new and emerging technologies and seek cost-effective ways to apply them.

Be fully aware of IT Architecture and Infrastructure standards and ensure compliance and support of them. Influence direction standards where change is needed.

Be fully aware of and support the IT Business Solutions Delivery Methodology for both Executive Team approved and Sustaining approved Projects.

Be a continual learner and always look to improve the environment or system software they support.

Specific Job Functions:

Resolve problems and answer questions regarding the Microsoft technical environment (Windows operating system for servers and PCs, Active Directory SMS, middleware, Data Base Exchange, security patches, etc.); contact vendor support when necessary.

Resolve problems and answer questions regarding the Unix technical environment (Operating system, middleware, UDB, etc); contact vendor support when necessary.

Generate schedules for upgrades to software/hardware supported on the Microsoft and Unix platforms.

Ensures monitoring and tuning is regularly accomplished. Identifies problems and implements solutions.

Work with architecture teams in formulating strategy as well as implementation plans and performance metrics for developmental infrastructure activities on the Microsoft and Unix platforms.

Work with Production Support/Network Operations teams in resolving issues that affect production SLAs.

Performs regularly scheduled capacity planning projects.

Experience/Skills
.Fully versed in the technology they support, whether it is hardware, system software, middleware software or network support.

2.Fully versed in management and supervision including employee management, administrative and budgetary functions, and communications with many levels within IT and any Business Customers who are involved with the operational procedures.

3.Able to read, write and speak English proficiently and be an effective verbal and written communicator.

4.BS/BA degree in a related area or equivalent experience (at least 10 years).

5.At least 8 years of experience in the field.

6.Must have excellent problem solving skills.

7.Results oriented with ability to work thru complex situations to drive solutions that meet/surpass business expectations and deliver project milestones on-time/on-budget.

8.Strong PC skills including working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Specific Qualifications

1.Five years of in-depth experience in management, design, administration, programming, and support on Microsoft software/middleware.

2.Ability to handle basic systems administration to fulfill as a backup role as needed.

3.Demonstrated experience working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments.
