Description
A. Primary Function
Lead all aspects of IT Operations including Help Desk, IT Technicians, and service delivery. Responsible for the seamless delivery of IT services across the company. Design and implement process improvements which ultimately result in a world class IT Service Center. Interface with customers and stakeholders to understand business needs and constantly monitor the level and quality of IT service provided. Work in partnership with the IT Architect and network engineering personnel to design, implement, and maintain top notch data center operations. Participate in the design/vision of IT architecture and supporting operations. Manage, coach, and develop IT technicians. Align IT operations strategy with business need.
B. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement processes and policies that facilitate a world class IT Service Center.
  • Constantly monitor level and quality of IT service provided to customers.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders and customers to understand business needs.
  • Accountable for overall IT service delivery.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of 5 IT technicians.
  • Work closely with IT engineering to design and implement robust, scalable IT systems.
  • Effectively manage mid to large IT projects.
  • Create IT department Goals and Objectives, status reports, and budget recommendations.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex IT issues and sensitive matters.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and operation of high availability Data Center
  • Assist in the implementation and operation of core IT systems: Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Software patching and deployment, network monitoring and response, security management

    C. Specialized Knowledge & Skills
  • Proven strong background in IT management
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and run world class IT Service Center operations
  • Strong technical skills and experience in managing core IT systems: Exchange, Active Directory, Software distribution/patching, monitoring, security, etc
  • Excellent partnering, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Strong business analysis and process oriented skills
  • Budget, scheduling, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An aptitude for problem solving, crisis management, and task administration.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills required, including the ability to defuse stressful or challenging situations.
  • Proven technical expertise with Microsoft systems and network engineering.
  • Unix/Linux experience desired but not absolutely required.
  • Proven ability to stay current with leading edge technology and technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the business needs and deploy effective IT solutions to accomplish the business objective.

    D. Experience
  • Minimum of 5-10 years in an IT management position. Previous hands on technical experience with multiple facets of IT operations.
    E. Education & Training
    BS in Computer Science or related degree. Certain engineering degrees also suitable.
    F. Physical Environment/Working Conditions
    Ability to lift 50 pounds on semi-regular basis. (Computers, monitors, etc.)

    G. Responsibility for Personnel (Supervisory)
    5 - 10 employees, contractors, etcdf-tc

    Experience/Skills
    Minimum of 5-10 years in an IT management position. Previous hands on technical experience with multiple facets of IT operations.
