Description
The IT Manager is responsible for managing individuals involved in the activities of developing, designing, debugging, installing, modifying, testing, analyzing or maintaining applications programs, operating systems, systems software, or voice/data communications systems.
Projects software and hardware requirements in conjunction with other IT Managers. Ensures effective coordination and technical support between programmers, developers, testers, interfacing system groups, and end users. Oversees the analysis and evaluation of current or proposed technology-related solutions that address business problems. Ensures adherence to quality standards. Evaluates and implements methods to maximize group efficiency. Prepares activity and progress reports regarding group or project status. Provides input for process standards, and ensures proper processes are in place to guide the consistent documentation and delivery of end user needs. Consistently demonstrates knowledge of managerial concepts, practices, and procedures through the leadership of programming, testing, or hardware resources. Works effectively with several levels of management by independently solving problems and making decisions. Knows when to involve the appropriate management levels on more complex issues.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in an IT discipline, which could include computer science or MIS OR at least four years of experience in a professional IT-related role.
- At least eight to 10 years of related work experience in IT, including successful experience leading or managing a team of technical resources.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with others, including senior management.
- Proven organizational and planning skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Experience coaching and/or mentoring others for improved performance and career success, which includes the ability to take proactive actions to address issues that may impact team performance.
- Proven experience influencing the outcome of events to achieve desired results.
- Ability to successfully manage/oversee multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
- Known as a positive role model of company direction and policies.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure or opposition.

The Policy Administration Infrastructure team is seeking a candidate that will be responsible for the development team supporting the OLS Data Warehouse, and the Production Services & Monitoring team for our production applications. This manager will help define and implement our strategies for both PolicyPro and our production applications including but not limited to:
1) Production services and monitoring
2) Standardization across applications (reporting, triage, availability, etc),
3) Synergies between Data warehouse and Production services development teams,

Required Skills:
Minimum 6 years of database and data warehousing experience.
Minimum 2 years in leadership position for a high performing IT team.
Proven/Demonstrated leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with large scale data warehousing implementations

Experience defining strategies, managing large IT projects

Knowledge of the insurance domain.
