Description
Manager: Responsible for managing two or more supervisors, professionals and/or vocational employees who perform similar or related tasks. Work is focused on short-term planning, operational effectiveness, and results. Generally makes decisions on work impacting own business unit and advises higher-level management on work issues of own unit and the impact on broader issues. May also be responsible for applying advanced concepts, theories, principles, and practices.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Up to ten of the following essential responsibilities of the job:

10-20% Functional Management - Develops action plans and processes, in coordination with management team, for integrating activities and optimizing department resources to meet major goals and objectives. Participates in business planning, budgeting, and policy development. Participates in functional discussions and initiatives across departments. Develops internal and/or external partnerships that leverage resources and improve business unit responsiveness.

10-20% People Management - Manages employees and sets individual goals. Coach-s staff, supports development, and collaborates on hiring decisions, disciplinary actions, performance management, and recognition and rewards. Resolves employee relations issues and supports diversity. Builds team support.

5-20% System Analysis - Facilitate and/or Perform Application Support, Problem Solving, and Issue Resolution with internal and external resources. Contributes and Reviews recommendations for technical solutions. Decides on technical solutions.

0-20% Code Development & Configuration - Leads and owns engagements with software vendors to ensure that code and configuration requirements and deliverables are met. Manages and facilitates cross functional issue resolution at a complex level.

0-20% Project Support - Manages and/or contributes to the RFP process. Provides technical estimates for project budget input to Senior/Project Management. Resolves issues and determines risk mitigation actions related to engineering tasks. May manage a small to medium project.

0-10% Technical Design - Approve Proof of Concept efforts and review results. Collaborate with other teams in integration needs/design. Enforce department architectural direction. Ensure consistent technical approach within department. Decide on engineering tools based on recommendations.

0-10% Standards & Best Practices - Enforces architecture, governance and security standards. Ensures application of global process standards to system changes and deployments. Manages the research of emerging operational technologies. Coordinates compliance issue identification and remediation

0-10% Testing - Oversees and is responsible for the creation of test plans, test execution and validation of test results

0-5% System Performance & Tuning - Allocate resources based on performance monitoring and tuning results. Manage to enforce performance thresholds and standards. Review and approve performance test results, recommendations, and tuning results. Decides on performance recommendations.

A plus if you have Retail Systems experience.
