Description
Robert Half Technology has an immediate need for an experienced IT Manager. This will be a contract to permanent opportunity for a growing manufacturing company in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

This includes all manufacturing IT systems around production control, quality, reporting of operations results (via intranet web for example), associated interfaces, and integration with enterprise level applications.

The position will be an integral part of the daily operations at the plant and will be the point of contact for plant management to get feedback on IT activities as well as for plant management to share their needs from IT.

The candidate must be self-motivated and solution-oriented. This is a hands-on position with responsibility for directing activities of a small staff to support overall business needs at the plant.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all IT activities at the facility level.
  • Support plant level goals and objectives with targeted IT initiatives.
  • Develop facility IT staff to support and grow facility level IT applications.
  • Plan facility level IT annual budget.
  • Manage facility level IT contracts with vendors.
  • Manage complex IT projects at the facility level.
  • Share best practices with IT group at other facilities to insure synergies are met.
  • Coordinate implementation of enterprise IT initiatives at the facility level.
  • Identify, recommend, and prioritize new enhancements, systems, etc. to support facility business needs. Assess the ability to deploy across all facilities.
  • Liaise with other facility IT Managers and Enterprise Helpdesk to insure common goals.


Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years working experience as business or systems analyst
  • Minimum 1 year IT management preferred.
  • 3-5 years SQL Server development experience (2000 and 2005) preferred
  • Experience in Pulp and Paper Industry and associated systems a plus
  • Experience in gathering, analyzing, and meeting business requirements.
  • Skilled project manager with demonstrated experience leading IT (or related) projects from conception to implementation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a small, fast-paced, team environment
