Company located in Marietta seeks an IT Director.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To manage day-to-day IT operations, to provide leadership in the design, development, and maintenance of programs, operating systems, and operational procedures, and to ensure productivity, integrity, and security of corporate computer systems.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field or currently and actively pursuing degree. Minimum seven years experience in programming business applications, database design, and application development, including four years in operating system management.
Demonstrated knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems, IBM pSeries (RS6000/AIX) or related systems, Enterprise Backup solutions, and High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.

SKILLS:
Ability to translate business solutions into detailed system and program specifications and communicate problems and solutions.
Excellent analytical skills; ability to analyze a variety of business and engineering problems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent planning skills.
Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.

PREFERRED:
Previous utility industry experience.
AIX Security Administration experience. Storage Area Network experience.
Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 Customer Information Systems
Visions Solutions Administration experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
IT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

NOTE: The following are major responsibilities of this position. The basic requirement of every position is to perform all tasks as assigned by the reporting authority.

Information Systems Integrity
. Promptly analyze and resolve problems arising with the operating and software systems.
. Segregate information and provide recovery procedures for the operating systems, databases, executable object modules, and source programs.
. Ensure the operating systems are current and the proper patches have been applied.
. Monitor and analyze system resources and performance, maintaining efficient access speeds, minimizing loss of data liabilities, and making recommendations for system upgrades if needed.
. Assist Manager, Information Services in providing disaster planning procedures for the computer system.
. Monitor disk utilization to ensure adequate space for expansion and growth of the database.
. Keep supervisor abreast of new operating system versions, software releases and upgrades, and patches.
. Develop an understanding of the internals of AIX, Oracle 9i, 10g RDMS, utilities, and other tools available.
. Respond promptly to after-hours problems.
. Ensure the systems are secure from outside threats of sabotage.

New and Existing System Upgrade Design and Implementation
. Coordinate the scheduling of required system time for new and upgraded system installation.
. Assist internal and external developers to determine required system resources for new and upgraded systems.
. Ensure sufficient system resources are available for new and upgraded system implementation.
. Effectively develop programs to more fully
