Description
My client is a rapidly expanding new provider of specialist insurance solutions for on and offshore energy, power and utility, chemical, high tech and pharmaceutical industries as well as other engineering-intensive property risks.

They require an IT Product Specialist to help maximise the effectiveness of complex software products and educate business users in systems that underpin the business processes.

Responsibilities include:

To be a subject matter expert and provide knowledge on the range of systems in use by the company including Risk recording systems, Aggregation systems, Catastrophe Modelling tools, complex excel macro based spreadsheets, financial analysis packages etc

Training users on products in use by the company by disseminating knowledge through a variety of medium

Second and Third level support of products

Liaison with third party vendors and outsource suppliers to ensure provision of IT services is in line with SLA s

Assisting users with adhoc issues such as IT security access, e-mail

Assisting the IT function in the creation of custom, bespoke software builds to solve pressing business problems

Conducting research studies and preparing documentation including specifications for proposals

Assisting in the design, implementation and testing of IT systems and services

Assisting with the day to day administration of the IT function including helpdesk functions

IT Procurement oversight

IT Reporting for audit requirements

Staying up to date with key technology roadmaps and product enhancements

Ability to take ownership of additional product management functions outside of core skill set.

Technical Skills required:

Broad and deep knowledge of Windows XP based IT systems such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Basic project management skills

Systems Analysis experience (gathering user requirements and documenting functional and technical specs)

Hands on administration of experience of windows server based systems

Knowledge or experience of MIS systems and best practices a benefit

Knowledge of systems development best practices and languages such as VBA and SQL a benefit

Knowledge or experience database management systems and systems architectures.

The role is New Jersey based but will involve travel within USA and may involve occasional international travel.
