Hughes Christensen, the most innovative and technically advanced drill bit manufacturer in the world, has an immediate opportunity in its Knowledge Services Department for an IT Project Manager on the Marketing and Technical Applications team located in The Woodlands, TX.


Responsibilities:





  • Provide project management expertise and leadership in the execution of complex information technology projects

  • Promote and enforce project management principles, processes and artifacts as it relates to systems development in a global development environment

  • Understand organizational needs and business processes, mentoring team as required to ensure successful project execution

  • Work across departments and areas to ensure various IT resources and responsibility areas are in sync and are proceeding in a unified fashion to achieve project deliverables, objectives and timelines

  • Manage issue tracking and resolution processes both within Infrastructure and across other related work areas

  • Develop use cases, requirements documents, and project plans based on business analysis


Skill Requirements:


  • Strong experience in IT software and system development methodologies

  • In depth project management experience with workload allocation, resource management, resource balancing and critical path identification and management

  • Demonstrated ability in earned value project management techniques

  • Experience with centralized project tracking tool (Clarity preferred)

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, MS Project, PowerPoint and prefer experience with Share Point

  • Ability to build complex/large project plans and effectively track and manage projects using Microsoft Project

  • Proven track record of project leadership with ability to do what it takes to ensure the successful delivery of critical and highly visible projects

  • Strong experience working with teams in an integrated global organization highly desired

  • Ability to build rapport and relationships quickly, excellent team building skills

  • Ability to manage complex information and rapidly structure and rationalize it

  • Self motivated and driven, can complete projects with very little/no direction

  • Strong multi-tasking skills with ability to work on multiple projects

  • Strong attention to detail, well organized administratively

  • Excellent financial and project analysis/management skills

  • Clear, concise, comprehensive written/verbal communicator

  • Desire to share best practices and grow others capabilities


Education/Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or business administration OR 15+ years of relevant IT experience

  • 8+ years of IT project management experience OR PMP Certification and 5+ years of IT project management experience

  • PMP certification desired
